BLACKFOOT - Our loving wife and mother, Charlotte Hope Neddo John, 85, of Blackfoot, left this life surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, Jan. 1, 2005, at the Bingham Memorial Extended Care Facility.

Hope was born October 29, 1919, in Malta, Idaho, the daughter of Isaac James and Alice Osterhout Neddo. She attended school in Malta, and graduated from Raft River High School.

She married Deward Leonard John on February 1, 1938, in Burley, Idaho, where she began a lifelong career as a loving wife and mother. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan, Utah, Temple, where they sealed their love for time and eternity. They moved to Blackfoot in 1956.

As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she held various positions. She served a stake mission with Deward at the State Hospital, where they conducted services and cared for all they met.

Hope loved to dance; she and Deward enjoyed dancing as long as it was possible for her. She was a wonderful cook; she crocheted, and was also a gifted seamstress. She loved to go fishing and camping with Deward and the family.

Her greatest joy came from being with her family, Deward, and all their children and grandchildren.

She worked for American Potato, Nixon Drug Store, Texaco Gas Station, J.C. Penney, and was the manager of the Village Shop for several years.

She is survived by her husband, Deward; sons, Elden (LaRue) John of Blackfoot, Wynn (Sharlene) John of Firth, Karl (Shirley) John and Douglas (Maria) John both of Blackfoot; daughters, Marjorie (Craig) Atwood and Alice (Monty) Hudson, both of Blackfoot, and Ardella John and Jim Percy of Boise; brother, Alvin (Rosella) Neddo of Malta; sister, Naomi Pasket of Malta; 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, January 5, 2005, at the Blackfoot Third Ward LDS Church. Burial will follow at the Grove City Cemetery.

Family will meet with friends on Tuesday evening, Jan. 4, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Hawker Funeral Home in Blackfoot, and one hour prior to services at the church Wednesday.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt love and gratitude to the wonderful caregivers at the Bingham Memorial Extended Care Facility. If there are angels on this earth, our family knows who and where they are. She was buried on 5 Jan 2005 in Grove City Cemetery, Blackfoot, Bingham, Idaho.156
